Job description

Overview

As part of our production ramp-up, we have two newly-created opportunities at Pragmatic Semiconductor in our Operations group. Based in Durham, working on a continental shift pattern and reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, these roles will form a critical part of our Production/Process Engineering team.

You will provide key support through assisting with Process Checks, resolving processing problems and aiding the improvement of stability and quality in our production lines. You will help to maintain a high process up-time against high Cp /CpK scores through appropriate diagnosis and resolution of process line issues.

We are looking for candidates with a proactive approach to fault-finding and the ability to immerse themselves in technical problem-solving (ideally with experience from a high-volume manufacturing environment) as well as the ability to work effectively with different teams across the business.

These are excellent opportunities to make a key impact on the production process, with genuine career progression and development offered to support your growth at Pragmatic.

We will not be able to provide Visa sponsorship or relocation assitance for this role; you will therefore need to provide evidence of the right to live/work in the UK, and be based within commutable distance of our Durham manufacturing site.

Key tasks
  • Provide effective Production Engineering cover to production lines, ensuring high up-time and high yielding production through implementing improvements

  • Assist in running of Tool and Process Checks to ensure that the production lines run to the best capacity and quality

  • Adjust Production equipment processes to correct for any drift / movement in the Process Check data, including necessary adjustment to process recipes to keep process in control

  • Through valued input and collaboration, work closely with Process Engineering to diagnose issues with Process / Yield failures, assess containment and implement necessary tool correction and/or maintenance

  • Assist with training & mentoring of Operators and fellow Technicians

Qualifications and training

You will ideally be educated to HNC/HND level in a relevant field such as Physics, Chemistry or Electrical Engineering (Degree would be beneficial but not essential). Lean Six Sigma training would be desirable.

Skills and experience
  • Process Engineering experience gained from a high-volume manufacturing environment - essential

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and fault-finding - essential

  • Ability to build excellent working relationships - essential

  • Ability to prioritise effectively and demonstrate excellent time management - essential

  • Previous working experience within a semiconductor facility or cleanroom - highly desirable

  • Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Software) - desirable

  • Experience using statistical tools such as MATLab, Minitab or JMP - desirable

Candidates who do not meet every requirement but feel their skills are a good fit for the role the role are encouraged to apply.

Pragmatic Semiconductor is committed to equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion; we strive to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams. We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to be themselves at work. Please let us know if you would like any adjustments to our application and interview process.
