HVAC Recruitment Limited is seeking a Facilities Assistant / Multi-Skilled Technician to support a commercial site in Colchester. The role combines hands-on maintenance with daily facilities support, including reception, deliveries and workplace services.

A multiskilled engineer with electrical or plumbing bias is preferred, capable of PPMs, fault finding and general facilities duties. The position offers 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with early/late shifts and out-of-hours call-out.

Formación

• Previous experience in commercial building maintenance.
• Electrical or plumbing bias with practical skills across multiple maintenance disciplines.
• Sound understanding of building services equipment, including AHUs and expansion vessels.
• Experience carrying out PPMs, reactive repairs and fault finding.
• Comfortable combining engineering tasks with reception, kitchen, deliveries and other facilities duties.
• Professional, approachable manner and strong customer service skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritising tasks safely and effectively.
• This is a combined facilities and maintenance position, not a dedicated engineering role.

Responsabilidades

• Complete weekly and monthly programmed maintenance (PPMs).
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests, investigate faults and carry out repairs within your competence.
• Maintain commercial building services equipment, including AHUs, expansion vessels and related systems.
• Undertake general building maintenance and minor repairs.
• Support reception duties as required.
• Assist with kitchen duties, site supplies and keeping workplace facilities ready for use.
• Handle deliveries, post and post room duties.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report issues for escalation.
• Liaise professionally with occupants, colleagues and contractors.
• Participate in out-of-hours call-out arrangements.
• Support facilities and maintenance activities during site relocation.
