Facilities Maintenance Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for two Facilities Maintenance Technicians to join our team at Florette in Lichfield, WS13 8NF.

Working a rotating double day Panama shift, you will complete general repairs and maintenance tasks on our water treatment plant, factory, and site grounds. Our on-site Water Treatment plant handles waste washings from our manufacturing processes. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills to operate and maintain the Treatment Plant.

On-site training is available for candidates eager to learn or develop in the industry. This is a physically active role involving Manual Handling, Lone Working, Working at Heights, confined spaces, and more. You will manage plant operations to ensure compliance with permit obligations, record testing details meticulously, and have an understanding or experience with Environment Agency discharge consents. A driving license is essential for operating yard tractors and trailers, especially during adverse weather conditions.

Working hours: Days: 05:30 am - 4:00 pm / 12:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Rotating Panama shifts between Earlies and Lates (4 on 5 off / 5 on 4 off / 5 on 5 off).

Responsibilities

1. Conduct routine checks of the plant and water hourly/daily/weekly.
2. Perform routine checks on cooling towers, including sampling and chemical replenishment, and escalate issues as needed.
3. Carry out general maintenance and DIY tasks.
4. Maintain site trailers to ensure roadworthiness.
5. Complete all necessary PPMs.
6. Report problems affecting the water treatment plant immediately to minimize downtime.

Skills and Experience

• Qualifications related to water treatment and/or maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of Water Treatment Plants, ideally in a food production environment.
• Understanding of supply & control of animal feed is advantageous.
• Ability to operate yard tractors and trailers confidently.
• High attention to detail for observation and recording.
• Legionella and Confined Space Awareness are highly desirable.
