Job summary

Adaptive HVM is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a 12 month contract in the Nort-West of London. You will maintain mission-critical equipment including liquid cooling, power distribution systems, generators and UPS, on a 24/7 shift roster.

Responsibilities include performing preventative and reactive maintenance, inspections, monitoring with BMS, fault-finding and coordinating vendors. You will log activities and support incident response while ensuring safety procedures are

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems.
• Hands-on maintenance, inspections or troubleshooting on plant equipment.
• Familiarity with infrastructure systems including liquid cooling, HVAC, pumps, motors, power distribution, UPS.
• Ability to follow operational procedures and safety standards.
• Willingness to work in a shift-based 24/7 environment.

• Conduct routine plant inspections and equipment checks to ensure systems operate correctly.
• Monitor alarms and system performance using Building Management Systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools.
• Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting across infrastructure systems including power distribution and cooling equipment.
• Support operation and testing of critical systems including liquid cooling, diesel generators, UPS systems and switchgear.
• Supervise specialist vendors performing maintenance or repair activities on site.
• Follow permit-to-work and safety procedures for all maintenance activities.
• Participate in incident response and support troubleshooting during infrastructure events.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and operational logs.
• Support testing activities including generator tests and infrastructure failover exercises.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician in a 12 month contract in the Nort-West of London.

You will work as part of a team responsible for maintaining mission-critical equipment including liquid cooling, power distribution systems, generators, and UPS systems.

This role operates on a shift rotation supporting 24/7 data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems
• Conduct routine plant inspections and equipment checks to ensure systems are operating correctly
• Monitor alarms and system performance using Building Management Systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools
• Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting across infrastructure systems including power distribution and cooling equipment
• Support operation and testing of critical systems including liquid cooling systems and cooling equipment, diesel generators, UPS systems, and switchgear.
• Supervise specialist vendors performing maintenance or repair activities on site
• Follow permit-to-work and safety procedures for all maintenance and operational activities

A Typical Day may include:

• Performing daily plant inspections across mechanical and electrical infrastructure
• Monitoring alarms and system status through the Building Management System (BMS)
• Responding to infrastructure alerts and assisting with initial troubleshooting
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks on site equipment
• Supporting generator tests and infrastructure system checks
• Supervising vendors performing maintenance activities
• Completing shift logs, plant status reports and operational handovers

Basic Qualifications

• Experience working with mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems
• Hands-on experience performing maintenance, inspections or troubleshooting on plant equipment
• Knowledge of infrastructure systems such as:
  • Liquid cooling systems – Primary area of expertise sought, followed by other cooling and mechanical systems.
  • HVAC / cooling systems
  • pumps, motors or industrial equipment
  • power distribution equipment
  • UPS systems
• Ability to follow operational procedures and safety standards
• Willingness to work in a shift-based environment supporting 24/7 operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical qualification (hands on apprenticeship, diploma or equivalent experience)
• Experience working in data centres, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants or critical environments
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) or similar monitoring systems
• Experience working with permit-to-work or safety management systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
