Job summary

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust is seeking a Maintenance Operative to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation, safety and upkeep of the Coventry site’s warehouse and office facilities. You will proactively identify maintenance issues and contribute to a safe, functional working environment for staff and visitors.

• Carry out routine inspections of warehouse and office facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
• Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks including plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, and decorating
• Maintain and repair warehouse equipment, fixtures, and fittings
• Ensure all building systems (lighting, heating, ventilation, etc.) are functioning effectively
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from colleagues and management
• Liaise with external contractors when specialist repairs or servicing are required
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting basic risk assessments where necessary
• Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and service schedules
• Support the implementation of preventative maintenance programmes
• Monitor and manage maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment inventory
• Assist with office moves, layout changes, and minor installations
• Ensure the external areas (e.g., car park, walkways, loading bays) are safe, clean, and well maintained
• Identify opportunities for improvements to facilities, efficiency, and cost savings
• Support emergency response actions (e.g., leaks, power issues, safety hazards)
