Qualifications

Job Purpose

Biopax Limited is a printed carton and labels manufacturer based in Belfast, Northern Ireland with unfettered access to both the UK, Ireland and European markets. We are an innovative company working with a number of key and widely recognised customers. Due to sustained and continued growth, we are currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer. Key Accountabilities

What Does The Role Entail?

Supporting the core business to ensure that systems capabilities and production targets are maintained and improved, driving towards high quality standards. Reporting to our Compliance Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will provide both reactive and planned maintenance support and work on a variety of continuous improvement projects while ensuring daily manufacturing challenges are overcome to maximise site quality and production targets.

What Will My Key Responsibilities Be?

  1. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential issues.
  2. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures in line with production management to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
  3. Assist with the planning and implementation of expansion across the factory, including carrying out machinery and equipment installations.
  4. General Facilities Management of the Biopax site.
  5. Develop and manage the Maintenance department's budget.
  6. Ensure compliance with strict health & safety, quality and environmental regulatory regulations including BRCGS, and ISO14001.
  7. Assist with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and efficiency.
  8. Maintain a proactive approach to minimising unplanned downtime by applying and implementing asset care regimes and providing technical solutions.
  9. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and inventory.
  10. Liaise with and coordinate a range of sub-contractors.
  11. Manage spare parts stock control.

What Skills and Attributes Should I Have?

  1. Minimum of 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food / beverage sector.
  2. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Maintenance qualification.
  3. Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical & electrical systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
  4. Excellent communication and team management skills.
  5. Proficient in the use of MS Office packages and strong level of IT literacy.
