Job summary

HEART Academies Trust is seeking a hands-on Site Maintenance Technician to support our Bedford area schools from Milton Keynes. The role is 30 hours all year round, four days per week, 08:00–16:00, with duties covering opening/closing Trust premises, site security, general repairs, decorating and grounds upkeep.

You will operate systems such as heating, lighting and ventilation, complete health and safety checks including COSHH, water hygiene, and be proactive in training to improve skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow procedures.
• Willingness to undertake training and development.

Responsibilities

• Open/close Trust premises and maintain site security.
• Carry out maintenance repairs, decorating and grounds upkeep.
• Operate heating, lighting and ventilation systems.

Main Duties Include:

• Undertake the opening and closing of Trust premises and maintain site security procedures.
• Undertake general maintenance repairs, decorating and grounds upkeep.
• Operate systems such as heating, lighting, ventilation etc.
• Complete various mandatory health & safety checks including those related to fire and security systems, COSHH, water hygiene, electric, gas etc.
• Be proactive and enthusiastic in undertaking training to improve and enhance skills.

30 hours all year around

4 days per week - days to be agreed with both parties
