Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Facilities and Housekeeping Assistant for Lagganlia Outdoor Centre. The role is 15 hours per week on a permanent contract, with responsibilities for cleaning, laundry and basic catering support to a high standard for school groups and guests.

Applicants should have knowledge of cleaning methods, COSHH and infection control, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering excellent guest service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and safe working practices (COSHH, infection control).
• Good communication and ability to interact with guests of all ages in educational/hospitality settings.
• Training in BICS Licence to Practice, REHIS food hygiene and Health & Safety courses.

Responsibilities

• Clean all surfaces, fixtures and fittings across Centre buildings.
• Carry out laundry and basic in-house laundering tasks.
• Maintain bedding and cleaning of sanitary areas; replenish consumables.
• Report safety or maintenance issues to Facilities Coordinator.
• Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests and visitors.
