Job summary

A higher education provider is seeking a Facilities Operations Engineer to oversee maintenance and refurbishment across multiple UK campuses. The role requires a proactive individual with relevant electrical certifications and experience in building maintenance. Qualifications

• Must have 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent experience needed.
• Experience in building maintenance including M&E systems is essential.
• Familiarity with refurbishment techniques is key.
• Must possess a full, clean driving license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and refurbish equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio.
• Undertake repairs and renovations as needed.
• Assist in planning refurbishment projects.
• Ensure health, safety, and compliance are maintained.
• Monitor condition of GBS buildings and perform preventative maintenance.

Skills

18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification

City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations

Previous experience in building maintenance

Manual skills and knowledge of refurbishment techniques

Flexible and proactive approach

Familiarity with COSHH requirements

Interpersonal skills
