North West England St Helens | Multi-Site Role | Permanent
Our client, a leading operator of critical industrial infrastructure, is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer looking to take on a varied and autonomous role within a highly regulated industrial environment.
This position offers an excellent basic salary of £61,000, with additional on-call and operational allowances typically increasing annual earnings by £8,000-£10,000.
As a Facilities Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of several industrial process facilities across multiple sites in the North West. The role combines hands‑on engineering, maintenance planning, contractor management, fault finding and emergency response, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical and operational responsibility.
Working closely with operational teams and customers, you’ll play a key role in maintaining plant availability, improving reliability and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
This role is part of a 1 in 4 on‑call rota, covering Friday through to Friday. While on call, you’ll respond to operational issues and emergency breakdowns across the sites. Weekend attendance is typically limited to planned site checks and any reactive call‑outs that arise. Additional hours are managed through a Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) system, providing flexibility while ensuring operational needs remain fully supported.
We’re looking for an experienced engineer who can work independently, make sound technical decisions and remain calm under pressure.
