Job summary

Optamor is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support FM activities at RAF Marham in Norfolk, with a 3rd party subcontractor. The role ensures delivery aligns with contracts, cost, schedule and KPI targets while planning, maintaining and reconfiguring facilities.

The successful candidate will coordinate with architecture/engineering firms for design criteria, prepare bids and contracts, review costs, and ensure regulatory compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Five years of hard facilities management experience.
• Proficient with CAFM systems and related software.
• Formal IOSH qualifications.
• APM or equivalent training.
• Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of FM activities via the 3rd party subcontractor.
• Monitor and report on maintenance tasks and SLAs.
• Assist with minor new works and reactive tasks.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety documentation and records.
• Assist planning and design for reconfiguration, maintenance, and alterations.

Facilities Engineer

RAF Marham - Norfolk plus excellent Benefits

Permanent: £40,000 - £45,000

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week with every other Friday off

About the role

The Facilities Engineer will support the delivery of Facilities Management activities via the 3rd part subcontractor, safeguarding alignment with contractual obligations and customer satisfaction, whilst continuing the execution of day to day deliverables to cost, schedule and technical requirements, in line with SLAs (service level agreements) and KPI (key performance indicators). The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing the reconfiguration, maintenance, and modification of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Responsibilities include gathering and reviewing data relating to facility or equipment specifications, company or regulatory requirements, target completion dates, and construction feasibility. The postholder will coordinate with architecture and engineering firms to develop design criteria and prepare layout and detailed drawings, as well as prepare bid packages and contracts for construction projects and facility acquisitions. Additional responsibilities include reviewing and estimating project costs, including equipment, installation, labour, materials, site preparation, and other related expenses. The postholder will inspect, or direct the inspection of, construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the agreed FM activities to relevant programmes, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services from the 3rd party sub-contractor
• Monitor and create management information focusing on pre-planned maintenance (PPM) tasks and reactive actives ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Support the delivery of requests for minor new works and reactive tasks
• Proactively monitor statutory compliance, health & safety documentation, and service records
• Aid in the planning and design activities for the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures.
• Inspects and approves completed works in line with agreed schedule, monitoring progress and ensure conformance to established regulations drawings, specifications, and standards
• Support the collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and implement solutions to enhance service delivery.
• Support service transitions, ensuring smooth handover and minimal disruption to our customers.
• Support the identification and mitigation of risks and opportunities related to service delivery, contingency plans as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and best practices.
