Job summary

Lancaster County Economic Development is seeking a responsible custodian to maintain county recreation facilities. You will perform cleaning and related maintenance to ensure a welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

The role includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, and safe operation of floor machines and carpet cleaners, with attention to safety and efficiency. Excellent communication with staff is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning methods, tools and chemicals and their safe usage.
• Ability to identify facility repair needs and perform routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain County-owned recreation facilities to a clean, orderly condition according to prescribed standards.
• Perform custodial tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash sanitation, restroom cleaning, and general surface cleaning.
• Post safety signs and report maintenance needs to the Facility Manager.
• Operate custodial equipment such as floor machines and carpet cleaners.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, and the public.
