Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Facilities Coordinator at Colchester Hospital (CO4 5JL) to lead on-site services in a busy healthcare environment.You’ll motivate the team, manage priorities and maintain high standards of safety and quality across operations.

You’ll build strong relationships with the hospital and client, monitor KPIs, support budgets and deliver an outstanding patient and staff experience with flexible shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced service, hospitality, facilities or healthcare setting.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, positive, solutions-focused approach with ability to adapt to priorities.
• Good understanding of budgets, costs, KPIs and balancing commercial goals with service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the on-site team to deliver high-quality services that meet client, patient and customer expectations.
• Build strong relationships with the hospital, client and internal teams as a trusted point of contact.
• Monitor service standards, feedback and KPIs; take action to improve patient and visitor experience.
• Own budgets, costs and financial performance; identify opportunities to improve efficiency and grow services.
• Champion health, safety, food hygiene and company standards in a healthcare environment.
• Coach and develop colleagues through effective communication and day-to-day leadership.
• Be proactive, hands-on; support events, service improvements and operational challenges.

• Coach, develop and motivate colleagues through effective communication, training and day-to-day leadership, creating a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Be proactive and hands-on, supporting events, service improvements and operational challenges while ensuring the site runs smoothly every day.

What you bring:

• Proven experience of leading, supporting and developing a team, ideally in a fast-paced service, hospitality, facilities or healthcare environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues, clients and customers at all levels.
• A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to make decisions and respond calmly to changing priorities.
• Good understanding of budgets, costs, KPIs and performance, with the ability to balance commercial goals with excellent service.
• A genuine commitment to customer and patient experience, with a passion for delivering consistently high standards.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage competing demands in a busy environment.
• Good IT, numeracy and literacy skills, with confidence using Microsoft Word and Excel; Food Hygiene Level 2 and IOSH qualifications are desirable.
