Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Facilities Coordinator at Colchester Hospital to lead the on-site team in delivering high-quality services to patients, staff and visitors.

You will drive service standards, manage budgets, and ensure safety and food hygiene compliance while maintaining strong relationships with hospital and client teams.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and develop a team in fast-paced service, hospitality, facilities or healthcare environments.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, positive, solutions-focused mindset; able to respond to changing priorities.
• Good understanding of budgets, costs and KPIs with a balance of commercial goals and service excellence.
• Commitment to customer and patient experience with high standards.
• Excellent organisational skills for multi-tasking in a busy setting.
• Proficiency in IT; Word/Excel; Food Hygiene Level 2 and IOSH are desirable.

• Champion health, safety, food hygiene and company standards, ensuring the team works safely and consistently in a healthcare environment.
• Coach, develop and motivate colleagues through effective communication, training and day-to-day leadership, creating a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Be proactive and hands-on, supporting events, service improvements and operational challenges while ensuring the site runs smoothly every day.

What you bring:

• Proven experience of leading, supporting and developing a team, ideally in a fast-paced service, hospitality, facilities or healthcare environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues, clients and customers at all levels.
• A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to make decisions and respond calmly to changing priorities.
• Good understanding of budgets, costs, KPIs and performance, with the ability to balance commercial goals with excellent service.
• A genuine commitment to customer and patient experience, with a passion for delivering consistently high standards.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage competing demands in a busy environment.
• Good IT, numeracy and literacy skills, with confidence using Microsoft Word and Excel; Food Hygiene Level 2 and IOSH qualifications are desirable.
