Job summary

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Facilities Assistant in Rampton Hospital's Portering Department. The role requires a full UK driving license and vehicle for business use, with training provided. Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for motivated individuals to join our busy Facilities Team at Rampton Hospital working as a Facilities Assistant in our Portering Department.

Previous experience of working as a Porter in a Hospital environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

Working in our main stores, delivering and collecting items from around the hospital (linen, waste, goods, property etc), within the internal postal service, and help with office or ward relocations also working in our waste management centre

Core hours are between 8am – 5.30pm, working 7.5 hours, 5 days over 7 days (including working weekends and bank holidays). Shift pattern will be discussed at interview.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Ensuring task schedules, method statements and procedures within the area of work are followed and that a high quality service is maintained.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary / skill level is below the minimum required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Contractual Requirements
  • Shift flexibility may be required from time to time, including weekend and Bank Holidays
