Drayton Manor Resort is seeking a Facilities Assistant with plumbing experience to join our Facilities team. You’ll maintain park, resort and site systems, undertaking plumbing work on water, drainage and boiler systems, and perform repairs across carpentry, painting and minor electrical tasks where qualified.
We value practical, hands-on professionals with time-served plumbing knowledge, a strong health and safety mindset and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Join the team behind the magic at Drayton Manor Resort!
Drayton Manor is the leading best-value family theme park in the Midlands, welcoming thousands of guests throughout the year. Behind every great day out is a dedicated team working hard to keep the park, resort and facilities running safely and smoothly.
We’re now looking for a Facilities Assistant with plumbing experience and relevant qualifications to join our friendly and hardworking Facilities team.
If you're practical, hands-on and enjoy a role where every day brings something different, this could be your next great opportunity!
As a Facilities Assistant, you'll be an important part of the team responsible for maintaining the park, resort and wider site. From keeping essential water and drainage systems working to tackling day-to-day repairs, you'll help make sure everything is ready for our guests and colleagues.
You'll get involved in a wide range of work, including:
Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the park and resort.
Undertaking plumbing work on fresh and waste water systems across our various business areas.
Maintaining and servicing water, drainage and gas boiler systems.
Carrying out general repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating and minor electrical work where appropriately qualified.
Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks.
Responding to maintenance issues and emergency call-outs when required.
Helping keep guest-facing and back-of-house areas safe, clean and fully operational.
Supporting water testing programmes and working with specialist contractors where required.
Liaising with third-party contractors and suppliers to ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Keeping accurate maintenance records and supporting Health & Safety requirements.
Working closely with the wider Facilities team to keep the resort operating smoothly, seven days a week.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You could be working on a plumbing issue one day, carrying out preventative maintenance the next, or helping prepare the park for another busy day of guests.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
You’ll ideally have:
An industry-recognised qualification in Plumbing and another relevant maintenance trade.
Practical, time-served experience in plumbing and general building, facilities, estates or property maintenance.
Good knowledge of fresh and waste water systems and drainage.
Experience of planned and reactive maintenance.
A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to tackle a variety of maintenance tasks.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm when dealing with unexpected issues.
A positive, enthusiastic and reliable attitude.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a busy team.
A strong commitment to Health & Safety and maintaining high standards.
Experience in carpentry, painting and decorating, general handyman work or gas boiler systems would also be advantageous.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, professional and takes pride in keeping things working behind the scenes.
Working in Facilities at Drayton Manor isn't your typical maintenance role.
You’ll be working in a unique environment where your work directly contributes to creating great days out for families. From our theme park and resort to our behind-the-scenes facilities, you’ll help keep everything running safely and efficiently.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, have opportunities to develop your skills and work in an environment where there is always something happening.
We offer a great range of benefits, including:
30 days' holiday entitlement
Free admission for you and 4 guests to Drayton Manor, Waterworld and West Midlands Safari Park
Free theme park ticket allocation across our UK sites
Discounts across catering and retail outlets
Subsidised meals while on duty
