Previous experience in a general maintenance, facilities, or maintenance support role within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
Qualifications Required
- Good practical skills, including basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to use a range of hand and power tools safely.
- FLT (Counterbalance) licence.
- Overhead Crane licence.
- MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) licence.

The General Maintenance Support role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day maintenance activities across the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
The role supports skilled maintenance personnel and the Facilities Manager in carrying out repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks including painting, minor carpentry, and basic plumbing.
- Assist skilled maintenance personnel in the repair and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Carry out minor repairs to building structures and equipment as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Support the installation of cables and pipework.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of ceramic mould making cages.
- Ensure workshop and maintenance areas are kept clean, organised, and hazard‑free.
- Carry out general housekeeping duties across internal and external areas of the site.
- Sweep, clean, and maintain safe walkways at all times.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in workshop and storage areas.
- Assist with organisation of storage areas and inventory supplies.
- Assist operational teams as required, depending on workload.
- Support loading and unloading of transport vehicles.
- Drive company vehicles to transport parts to subcontractors and collect completed items, ensuring safe and timely delivery.
- Assist in maintaining tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Support scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards to the Facilities Manager.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and COSHH regulations at all times.
- Operate ride‑on floor cleaning equipment as required (training provided).
- Operate Forklift Truck (FLT), overhead crane, and MEWP equipment (subject to valid certification/licence).
