Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate Director to lead the façade engineering team, directing design and delivery on major projects. You will develop client relationships, win new work, and contribute to growth and reputation through leadership, mentoring, and market engagement.

The role requires a technical leader who can manage multidisciplinary delivery, provide strategic advice, and drive high‑quality outcomes while modelling WSP’s values and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

recognised degree in built environment (Façade Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or similar)
Proven experience in a façade design/engineering role
Willingness to progress towards Chartered Engineer status
Experience with building envelope design and detailing, construction techniques, procurement routes and risk assessment

Responsibilities

Lead delivery of façade engineering projects from concept through construction.
Lead client meetings, presentations, workshops and design reviews.
Act as Project Director, Project Manager or Discipline Lead on complex projects.
Mentor and develop engineers and future leaders within the team.
Develop client relationships and provide strategic façade engineering advice.
Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts.
