Job summary

Winder Power Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled fabricator/welder to join our production team. You will fabricate and weld brackets, frames and pipework, reading drawings and working with MMA/MIG processes while following our safety policies.

You'll contribute to continuous improvement, meet tight deadlines, and ensure quality documentation. The role offers on-site work with access to training and development opportunities within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs High school or equivalent (Desirable).
• Apprentice trained in Fabrication/Welding.
• City & Guilds certification in fabrication/Welding.
• Experience of reading & understanding fabrication drawings.
• Overhead crane slinging & lifting (not essential as Training will be given).
• Any Health & Safety certification associated with the engineering industry (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out production operations in accordance with the Health & Safety policy and ensure personal safety and that of others.
• Fabricate and weld brackets, frame work and pipework using initiative and with minimal drawings.
• Read drawings and fabricate/weld parts associated with the drawing.
• Ensure work meets high quality standards and complete quality control documentation.
• Work to tight deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement.

Job description

• To carry out all production operations in accordance with the company Health & Safety policy. Ensuring your personal safety and that of others working in your area;
• Fabricate and weld brackets, frame work and pipework using your own initiative and mostly without the convenience of a drawing;
• To read drawings and fabricate/weld parts associated with the drawing;
• Must be competent in the MMA (stick) and MIG welding processes;
• To use machinery associated with the manufacture of metal parts i.e. Guillotine, Brake press, Radial Arm Drill, hand tools, Oxygen/Acetylene cutting etc.;
• To ensure all work carried out is done to the highest standard;
• Ensure all quality control and customer specific documentation has been completed;
• Work to tight deadlines and show commitment to get the “job done”;
• Carry out any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team;
• Promote teamwork and co-operation at all times, both within individual depots and right across the entire Winder Power group;
• Safeguard all Company assets;
• Treat all other employees and all our customers professionally and with respect;
• Always act in the best interests of any of the Winder Power, and not to carry out (or fail to carry out) any action that would bring the company into disrepute;
• Always work in a responsible manner to ensure safe working practices;
• Follow Health Safety Quality and Environmental guidelines provided by the company – currently ISO 9001:14001 and OHSAS 18001 procedures, including all future notifications;
• Proactively contribute to the company’s policy of continuous improvement.

Requirements to carry out the role
