Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Fabricator Welder in Leeds to join a leading UK structural steelwork specialist. You will fabricate, assemble and weld steel components from engineering drawings, using fabrication machinery, hand tools and measuring equipment.

The role offers both day and night shifts in a workshop setting. You will work from drawings to produce high-quality steelwork for buildings, bridges and industrial projects across the UK and Europe, with emphasis on safety,

A Fabricator Welder is required in Leeds, for our client, a leading UK structural steelwork specialist. The company designs, manufactures and constructs structural steelwork for a wide range of projects across the UK and Europe.The role involves fabricating, assembling and welding structural steel components used in buildings, bridges and industrial structures. You will work from engineering drawings to produce accurate, high-quality steelwork, using fabrication machinery, hand tools and measuring equipment. Both day and night shifts are available.

Fabricator Welder Job Overview

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Fabricating and assembling structural steel components, including universal beams (UBs), universal columns (UCs), parallel flange channels (PFCs) and circular hollow sections (CHSs).
• Carrying out cutting, grinding and welding tasks to meet project specifications.
• Using hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensuring fabricated components meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Operating lifting equipment, including overhead cranes.
• Working alongside supervisors and colleagues to meet production deadlines.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Following health and safety procedures and wearing the correct PPE at all times.

Fabricator Welder Job Requirements

• Previous experience in steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Competence in welding and metalworking processes.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to use fabrication tools, machinery and measuring equipment safely.
• Awareness of workshop health and safety procedures.
• Good physical fitness and ability to handle materials as required.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• A trade qualification in fabrication or welding is preferred but not essential.
