Homer Burgess part of RSK Group, is a successfully family-run company founded in 1958 and based in Dumfries, Scotland. It is a well-known and respected mechanical engineering business offering design, fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance services.

We are now hiring a skilled fabricator/welder to join the team in Dumfries, Scotland. The ideal candidate will carry out fabrication and welding procedures to manufacture a wide variety of components according to specifications to meet customer requirements, while complying with our commercial, quality, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture components in accordance with customer requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Apply the most efficient methods of manufacture.
• Perform self-inspection of own work in accordance with the company QMS.
• Conduct final inspection of manufactured components as stipulated by management.
• Ensure health & safety/environmental policies are followed at all times, including housekeeping, PPE, and machinery operation.

Person Specification:

• Time-served tradesperson or demonstrate equivalent experience.
• Experience in fabrication, with a broad skill set to draw upon.
• Ability to assess a job and apply experience accordingly, even if the requirements are new.
• Competent and confident in MIG welding; TIG welding experience is a plus.
• Capable of working to tight fabrication tolerances.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
• Supportive of company policies, including QM & H&S systems.

• Flexible approach to work and able to work well under pressure.
