Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Dudley is seeking a skilled fabricator/welder to fabricate, assemble and repair steel components for our manufacturing operation.

You will perform MIG welding, flame cutting, and read engineering drawings to produce high-quality fabrications on time. The role requires safe operation of workshop machinery and general fabrication duties.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Must be able to operate workshop equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding of mild steel plate, cylinders, sections and fabricated components.
• Fabricating and assembling steelwork to drawings and specs.
• Flame cutting and profiling using oxy-acetylene equipment.
• Drilling, tapping, grinding and preparing materials for fabrication.
• Operating workshop machinery including saws, grinders and drilling machines.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to manufacture and inspect components.
• Carrying out repairs and modifications to plant equipment and steel structures.
• Completing work within agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Supporting workshop housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Assisting with general fabrication, maintenance and workshop duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, repairing and welding steel components and equipment used throughout our manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding of mild steel plate, cylinders, sections and fabricated components
• Fabricating and assembling steelwork to engineering drawings and specifications
• Flame cutting and profiling using oxy-acetylene equipment
• Drilling, tapping, grinding and preparing materials for fabrication
• Operating workshop equipment including saws, grinders, guillotines and drilling machines
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to manufacture and inspect components
• Carrying out repairs and modifications to plant equipment and steel structures
• Completing work within agreed timescales and quality standards
• Supporting workshop housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment
• Assisting with general fabrication, maintenance and workshop duties as required
• Operating a counterbalance forklift truck where trained and authorised
