Job summary

DATS Recruitment is seeking a Fabricator/Welder for a permanent role based in Bolton. The position covers fabrication, welding and component assembly of doors using carbon and stainless steels, with occasional testing in test rigs.

Typical hours are 06:30–16:15 or 07:00–16:45, 37 hours across four days. The role offers a starting hourly rate of £18.72, rising to £19.22 after probation, plus life assurance and healthcare.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in fabrication or welding.
• Overhead crane certification is required.
• Own transport is required.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret welding requirements.
• Good communication skills and ability to absorb information.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate/assemble doors and related parts in Carbon/Sainless Steel and other materials.
• Work to Inspection and Test Plans under supervision.
• Achieve coded welding status as required and perform welding operations.
• Use overhead crane and forklift where trained.
• Ensure work passes UT, MPI or other NDT inspections and meets quality standards.
• Read drawings and interpret welding requirements.
• Adhere to health and safety policies.

Job description

• Using overhead crane.

We are seeking a Fabricator / Welder to support a client based in Bolton on a permanent staff basis.

This will be working full time hours across 4 days per week: 37 hours total. Typical Hours are 06.30 am – 4.15 pm or later shift at 07.00 am – 4.45 pm. An hourly rate os £18.72 per hour is in effect rising to £19.22 after probationary period. This is a permanent role with additional staff benefits including life assurance and healthcare.

The client works in the industrial and manufacturing sector supporting clients across a range of niche industries supplying steel based products.

Job Description

Fabrication, welding and component assembly of doors, including installation in test rig, to required standards.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Fabrication/assembly of doors and related parts/assemblies in Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel, and other materials as required.
• Working to strict Inspection and Test Plans, under close supervision, when required.
• Achieve coded welding status as required.
• Perform welding operations as and when required.
• Using overhead crane.
• Using FLT (when trained to do so).
• All work produced is to be capable of passing UT, MPI, other NDT and visual inspection
• Grinding, Welding, Polishing, Drilling, hardware assembly and fitting.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret welding requirements.
• May be required to undertake and pass a security background check.
• Assembly of door hardware and door installation.
• Ability to work to safe standard, and compliance with Company Health and Safety requirements.
• Fabrication of specialised/engineered doors and related products to Company Standards.
• Minimisation of quality defects.
• Minimisation of H&S incidents/accidents.
• Continuous development of skills and experience, including automated technologies.
• Achievement of time, quality and delivery targets.
• Any other ad hoc duties as may be required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
