Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Fabricator – Plater in Glasgow. You will interpret engineering drawings and prepare materials using oxy-fuel cutting and grinding, assemble ship structures, and tack-weld components on projects spanning from sea to space.

Essential qualifications include Modern Apprenticeship/Trade Papers and SVQ3 or City & Guilds, with experience in fabrication and safety standards. Onsite roles require safety in confined spaces and at height.

Qualifications

• Modern Apprenticeship and trade papers required.
• Hands-on fabrication experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Ability to tack weld safely to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and prep materials using oxy-fuel cutting and grinding.
• Assemble ship structures and tack-weld components.
• Fabricate items such as seats, ladders, and watertight doors.
• Form materials using machine tools for rolling and cutting.
