Job summary

Aeropeople Limited, working with a world-leading defence and aerospace company, seeks a Fabricator- Plater to join the Glasgow site on a full-time, on-site basis.

You will interpret drawings, perform plate preparation, fabricate ships structures and fittings, and work across day, night and weekend shifts with overtime opportunities. A trade apprenticeship and SVQ3 are required, with SC clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Modern Apprenticeship certificate (Trade Papers) and SVQ3.
• Fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Tack welding ability.
• Oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting ability.
• Knowledge of SHE, risk assessment and working at height.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting engineering drawings.
• Marking off materials.
• Plate preparation using oxy-fuel/plasma and grinding.
• Assembling ship structures, shell, decks, bulkheads, frames, and longitudinals.
• Fit, fair and tack weld steelwork using fairing aids.
• Fabrication of ship components and fittings (seats, ladders, flooring, panels).
• Outfitting ship items and fittings (hatches, watertight doors).
• Forming material using machine tools (rolling, flanging, cutting).
