Job summary

M-Sport UK is seeking a motivated Fabricator at our Dovenby Hall headquarters to manufacture, prepare and deliver high-performance competition components. You will work with a skilled team and collaborate across Engineering, Design, Workshop and Quality Control to ensure precision and quality in all fabrication tasks.

The role emphasizes interpretation of engineering drawings, adherence to quality standards, and safe workshop practices, with opportunities to contribute to a leading motorsport

Qualifications

• Education: Level 3 Fabrication and Welding standard.
• Fabrication skills with sheet metal, tubing and fabricated components.
• Competent in welding processes with focus on weld quality and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Exceptional attention to detail with focus on accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate components and assemblies to drawings, specs and standards.
• Carry out welding and fabrication activities with proper techniques.
• Produce brackets, panels, structures and other fabricated components.
• Assemble and fit fabricated components with correct alignment and dimensions.
• Interpret drawings and technical information to manufacture parts.
• Ensure all work meets required quality standards and procedures.
• Complete job cards, inspection records and paperwork accurately.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Workshop and Quality Control to deliver projects on time.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally-Raid, and a variety of global customer racing activities. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Fabricator to join our growing Fabrications Department at our Dovenby Hall headquarters.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the manufacture, preparation and delivery of high-performance competition components, working as part of a skilled team of Fabricators. Working closely with colleagues across Engineering, Design, Workshop, Quality Control and other technical departments, you will ensure fabrication work is completed to the highest standards of quality, accuracy and finish.

The role responsibilities include:

• Fabrication:Manufacture and fabricate components and assemblies to engineering drawings, specifications and required standards.


• Welding:Carry out welding and fabrication activities using appropriate processes and techniques, ensuring weld quality and consistency.


• Component Manufacture:Produce brackets, panels, structures and other fabricated components for competition and customer vehicles.


• Assembly & Fitment:Assemble and fit fabricated components accurately, ensuring correct alignment, dimensions and functionality.


• Technical Drawings:Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information to accurately manufacture components.


• Quality & Standards:Ensure all fabricated work is completed to the required quality standards, specifications and procedures, maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.


• Documentation:Complete relevant job cards, inspection records and technical paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.


• Cross-Departmental Collaboration:Work closely with Engineering, Design, Workshop, Quality Control and other technical departments to ensure projects are delivered on time.


• General Workshop Duties:Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept in a clean, safe and effective condition.

Essential Criteria & Skills:

• Education:Educated to Level 3 Fabrication and Welding standard.


• Fabrication Skills:Strong practical fabrication skills with experience working with sheet metal, tubing and fabricated components.


• Welding:Competent in relevant welding processes, with a strong understanding of weld quality and fabrication techniques.


• Technical Drawings:Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.


• Quality & Attention to Detail:Exceptional attention to detail with a strong understanding of the importance of accuracy, repeatability and quality.


• Problem Solving:A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve fabrication and fitment issues.


• Communication Skills:Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.


• Organisation:Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet agreed deadlines.


• Safety Awareness:Good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements and safe working practices.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in TIG/MIG welding and precision fabrication.


• Previous experience manufacturing components from engineering drawings within a fast-paced production environment.
