About the Role: NOV Plymouth is seeking a Fabricator to join our manufacturing team, supporting the production of high‑quality composite components using advanced lamination, vacuum infusion, and composite fabrication processes. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare moulds, materials, and consumables in line with process requirements.
  • Carry out composite fabrication activities including hand lay‑up, wet lamination, and vacuum infusion.
  • Use a range of hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively to trim, drill, fit, and finish components.
  • Assemble composite components and sub‑assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Prepare composite surfaces for painting or coating, including sanding, filling, masking, and cleaning to specified standards.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality or safety.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
  • Identify and minimise material waste through efficient working practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Accurately record work completed to ensure full traceability and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication process.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience in composite fabrication is preferred, with a strong emphasis on lamination and vacuum infusion.
  • Sound understanding of composite materials, resins, reinforcements, and consumables.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, laminate schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Competent in the use of hand tools, trimming tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and high‑quality workmanship standards.
  • Familiarity with controlled manufacturing environments and quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a production environment.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining safe working practices and quality standards.
