Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking a Fabricator for our Muir of Ord facility on a permanent basis. You will work with an established team to fabricate and form pipework and manifolds using hand tools, machinery and related equipment.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and collaborating with other disciplines. A UK driving licence and relevant trade qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• SVQ or City and Guilds qualification in a relevant trade.
• General fabrication/pipework knowledge and experience.
• Ability to read and reproduce components from engineering drawings or samples.
• Organised with ability to plan a sequence from start to finish.
• Self-checking with high standards for Environment, Quality and Health & Safety.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate components from drawings or samples to client specs.
• Undertake maintenance/repair work on existing systems.
• Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals and fuel.
• Inspect materials and parts to ensure high standards.
• Safely use hand tools, machinery and equipment.
• Assist other disciplines when required.
• Carry out other tasks within your skill set as requested.

What Are We Looking For?

Our Mechanical Trades team is looking for a Fabricator to join our Muir of Ord facility on a permanent basis. You’ll work alongside an established team and be required to fabricate and form pipework and manifolds through the safe use of hand tools, machinery, and other equipment.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

• Fabricate components from customer samples and/or engineer's drawings to client specifications.
• Undertake maintenance/repair work on existing systems
• Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems
• Inspect materials and parts to ensure high standards maintained
• Safe use of hand tools, machinery and other equipment
• Assist other disciplines when required
• Carry out all other tasks as requested within the post holder’s appropriate skill set

What Do You Need?

• SVQ OR City and Guilds Qualified in a relevant trade
• Possess general fabrication/pipework knowledge and experience
• The ability to understand and reproduce components from engineering drawings and/or customer samples.
• To be organised and have the ability to plan a sequence of events, which are required to fabricate a component from start to finish.
• Capable of self-checking work and to possess high personal standards with respect to Environment, Quality and Health & Safety.
• Full UK Driving Licence
