Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Fabrications team in Mansfield. You will aid the design team with calculations, material selection, and engineering procedures while preparing and reviewing drawings and specifications to meet codes and practices.

You will use Tekla and AutoCAD for layout and design, conduct design calculations, review client and contractor drawings, and support proposal efforts with outline sectioning calculations. Occasional site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience in civil/structural engineering with 2+ years.
• Knowledge of drafting standards and principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide design input at outline, optioneering and detailed design stages.
• Perform structural design and analysis calculations to codes and standards.
• Maintain awareness of economical and efficient design approaches.
• Review structural plans, designs, layouts and loading criteria.
• Consult with Project Management on constructability of steelwork.
• Support outline sectioning calculations for proposals team.
• Review GT Fabs designs against client specs, Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Apply 2D/3D CAD skills to create or extract information for project work.
• Provide technical clarification to proposals, engineers, workshop and site personnel.
• Maintain organised file structures for assigned projects.
