Job summary

Severfield is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to be based at Dalton, Lostock or Mansfield offices. The role focuses on delivering code-compliant, high-quality structural steelwork solutions to meet client requirements while ensuring projects finish on time and within budget.

You will lead design work, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and mentor junior engineers, ensuring buildability and safety across major projects in the UK and Europe.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of structural steelwork design including complex solutions and temporary works.
• Experience in Design Management.
• A good understanding of buildability issues on major construction sites and in fabrication shops.

Responsibilities

• Deliver code-compliant, high-quality steelwork solutions meeting client requirements.
• Collaborate with external clients and internal stakeholders to produce practical designs.
• Carry out structural analysis and develop calculations for building regulations submissions.
• Produce detailed design sketches for draughtspersons with focus on buildability and safety.
• Liaise with design teams to ensure clear briefs and compliant designs.
• Assess and define temporary works requirements clearly.
