Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd is seeking a Technical Fabrication Engineer to join our head office in Banbridge. The role focuses on reviewing fabrication drawings and BIM models to ensure dimensions, design, and constructability are practical for the shop floor.

You will work with engineering, production and welding teams to develop efficient fabrication strategies, reduce welding and handling time, and drive continuous improvement through new technologies.

Qualifications

• Engineering mindset and hands-on fabrication focus are essential.
• Experience in fabrication and welding is advantageous.
• Pipework or plumbing experience could fit the role.
• Strong familiarity with BIM/3D drawings for review and fabrication planning.

Responsibilities

• Review fabrication drawings and BIM models to identify dimensional and constructability issues.
• Develop efficient fabrication strategies and sub-assemblies for cost and time efficiency.
