Job description

Fabrication Engineer

Location: St Helens

Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Create fabrication drawings.
  • Work from client specifications and produce shop‑ready drawings.
  • Understand tolerances, weld symbols, and surface finishes.

Software Skills:

  • Competent in relevant engineering and drawing software packages.

Hands‑on Fabrication Knowledge:

  • Welding processes.
  • Cutting, drilling and forming techniques.
  • Assembly methods.
  • Jigging and sequencing of work.

BS EN 1090 & Compliance Knowledge:

  • Material traceability requirements.
  • Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

The Successful Candidate Will Be Able To:

  • Clearly explain drawings and technical information to workshop staff.
  • Identify potential issues early and communicate practical solutions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Manage workload effectively and maintain high standards of quality.
