Gov Facility Services Limited at HMP Bedford is seeking a practical Handyperson / Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities Maintenance Team. You will support a secure, safe prison environment, working across various trades with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to procedures.

The role involves collaborating with skilled colleagues to maintain building fabric and services, ensuring timely and reliable support for staff, prisoners, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience of prison environment (Desirable).
• Experience of use of hand and power tools.
• Previous experience of working within a building fabric / Hard FM environment.
• Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification.
• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
