My client has an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabric engineer to join their team on a site in Hounslow. The Ideal candidate will comply with recognised procedures and systems, and strive to deliver the best quality possible. As a Fabric Engineer you will continuously pursue high standards, embrace change, recognise improvement opportunities and learn from experience.
- Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance to building fabric including plastering, carpentry, painting, decorating, brickwork, snagging, tiling and plumbing/basic electrical.
- Supporting and liaising with 3rd party contractors as necessary.
The Role is Static position in Hounslow working within a team of engineers.
Responsibilities
- To maintain all internal and external building fabric to a high standard in accordance with the Planned Maintenance system and reactive work requests
- Complete works to a standard that is consistent within a high status environment
- To assist in carrying out risk assessments and safe working methods in relation to all work that is carried out.
- To store and use safely painting materials, adhesives, etc and to comply with COSHH data sheets.
- Attend meetings as requested.
- To carry out emergency repairs to various buildings etc when requested by line manager.
- To carry and use a communication radio and other communication devices whilst on site.
- Ability, (or willing to be trained), to work in confined spaces, climb ladders/scaffold/mobile access equipment.
- To make themselves available for on-site and external training courses.
- To assist and be involved in continuous improvement programs for the centre.

Requirements
- Proven ability and experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- The ability to work at heights and have or willing to take IPAF/MEWPs Certificate.
- Proven experience of working in a customer services environment.
- CSCS card would be an advantage.
- Carpentry, painting and decorating NVQ / City & Guilds qualification is preferred.
- Proven experience of working in a customer services environment.
- Possess a working knowledge of relevant building and health and safety legislation.
- Must have a general all round knowledge of / or experience in Building Maintenance aspects of M and E.
- Possess a current driving licence.
- Able to work well as part of a highly motivated team.
- Strong and effective communication skills.
