Job summary

Formula One Management Limited is seeking a Data Architect to join a team of software developers and architects. This maternity cover FTC role focuses on shaping data architecture for mission-critical applications supporting the F1 championship and its associated series.

You will design data solutions, support architectural roadmaps, collaborate with engineers and product owners, and help modernise systems with CI/CD practices. Strong governance, modelling and cloud data experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years designing and delivering data solutions and contributing to data architecture.
• 2+ years applying established architecture standards, principles and design patterns.
• Experience with master data, operational data stores or analytical platforms.
• Experience with distributed data systems, data modelling, data integration patterns and data lifecycle management.
• 2+ years working with relational and non-relational database technologies, including schema design, performance optimisation and scalability.
• 2+ years supporting operational, analytical or historical reporting workloads.
• Experience with cloud-native data technologies or modern data platform tooling.
• Knowledge of Data Orchestration / ETL processes.
• Understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality and data lineage practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and evolution of data architecture, technology and tooling.
• Design and document data architecture solutions to meet requirements.
• Support architecture initiatives and roadmap activities within projects.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product owners and stakeholders to ensure alignment with standards.
• Improve systems through modernisation and reduction of technical debt.
• Develop and maintain expertise across data platforms and tooling.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes to enhance delivery speed and reliability.
• Mentor less experienced team members through knowledge sharing.
