Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Aerodynamic Development: Analysis of CFD and wind-tunnel simulations with concise reports to colleagues; develop surfaces in CAD and plan tests for wind tunnel validation.
• CFD Methodology: Improve CFD throughput, code programming, software benchmarking and supporting CFD tools for Aerodynamic Development.
• Data Science: Apply ML, statistics and CS concepts to deliver actionable engineering insights; collaborate with data scientists and engineers to extract race-car performance improvements.
• Race Strategy: Develop strategy tools, support pre/post-race analysis and create trackers for team performance understanding.
• Simulation & Modelling: Improve simulation toolsets for car performance; define workflows for race-event analyses and CFD submissions.
• Race Engineering Support: Prepare pre-event docs, analyze circuit characteristics to aid setup decisions, and support engineering decision-making.
• Wind Tunnel Operations: Develop processes for wind tunnel tests, maintain instrumentation, examine wind tunnel data, support PIV activities and wind tunnel tyre analysis.
• Software Engineering: Explore internships in software engineering, DevOps and QA; write robust code using C#, TypeScript, React and Python; develop CI/CD pipelines.
• Aerodynamic Surfacing: Create parametric CAD surfaces; ensure compliance with regulations; prepare surfaces for CFD submission.
• Model Design: Create CAD models and drawings for wind tunnel components; perform FEA and lab tests; handle larger design projects as a team.
• Mechanical Design: Design mechanical systems for wind tunnel use; prepare manufacturing drawings and tolerances; perform FEA and lab verification.
• Aero Performance: Conduct CFD and wind tunnel analyses and develop data-driven insights to improve vehicle modelling.
• Wind Tunnel Electronics: Support electronics for wind tunnel tests; design wiring looms and calibrate sensors.
