Job description

Job Purpose :

The Head Bartender/Mixologist is responsible for guiding the preparation of beverages according to Club’s recipes and procedures. You will be responsible to provide an excellent and consistent level of service to your customers. The Head Bartender/Mixologist is responsible to assist with the customer and bar service at the Club's selected beverage outlets. The Head Bartender/Mixologist is responsible to assist the Outlet Manager in ensuring that the selected beverage outlet is managed efficiently according to the established concept statement, providing courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times. You are to assist and create cocktails as well as helping the F&B Manager to spearhead the Bar Program for the Club.

Role and Responsibilities :

Bar Operations & Service Excellence

  1. Oversee daily bar operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  2. Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks while maintaining quality and consistency.
  3. Ensure all drinks adhere to venue standards and recipes.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar.

Team Leadership & Training

  1. Supervise and mentor bartenders and barbacks, ensuring high service standards.
  2. Conduct training sessions on mixology, customer service, and bar operations.
  3. Manage staff schedules and allocate duties to optimize efficiency.

Beverage & Cocktail Development

  1. Curate and develop seasonal cocktail menus that align with the venue’s theme.
  2. Experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and presentations to enhance the menu.
  3. Conduct tasting sessions and get feedback from guests and management.

Inventory & Cost Control

  1. Monitor stock levels and coordinate liquor, ingredients, and bar supplies orders.
  2. Track sales and minimize wastage and over-pouring to control costs.
  3. Maintain accurate records of inventory, purchases, and usage.

Customer Engagement & Experience

  1. Provide an engaging and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  2. Make drink recommendations based on customer preferences.
  3. Address guest concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently.

Others

  1. Follow the workplace safety and health system, safe work procedures or safety rules implemented at the workplace.
  2. Not engage in any unsafe or negligent act that may endanger yourself or others working around you.
  3. Use personal protective equipment provided to you to ensure your safety while working. You must not tamper with or misuse the equipment.
  4. Any other duties/projects as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.

Requirements: -

  • Diploma/Degree in hospitality or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience at a supervisory level within a bar or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of beverages, mixology, and bar operations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Customer-focused with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
