Job summary

Hartley Brook Primary Academy, part of Astrea Academy Trust, is seeking a permanent Early Years practitioner to support children in the EYFS. You will work with the class teacher through play, guided activities and personal care.

This term-time role is 32.5 hours per week. A Level 3 EY qualification and fluent English are essential; visa sponsorship is not available. Enhanced DBS and safeguarding responsibilities are a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or equivalent.
• Recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce.
• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education, or BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
• Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development through play-based, child-led and adult-guided activities.
• Encourage communication, language, literacy, numeracy and personal development.
• Give support to individual pupils and small groups to meet developmental milestones.
• Foster children's confidence, independence, resilience and positive relationships.
• Create and maintain engaging, safe and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Observe children's progress and contribute to assessment and learning records.
• Support children with personal care, welfare and wellbeing needs where required.
• Work with teachers, parents and colleagues to make sure children get the best support.
• Promote good behaviour, inclusion, safeguarding and equal opportunities.
• Contribute to the wider life, values and ethos of the school.
