Job summary

Education World Ltd is seeking a Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hartlepool from September 2026. This full‑time role supports learning in the EYFS through play‑based activities and close collaboration with the class teacher.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 EY qualification, EYFS knowledge, and a caring, patient approach. Prior EY experience is preferred, and safeguarding responsibilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification required.
• Experience in an Early Years setting.
• Strong understanding of EYFS.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning with individual children and small groups.
• Deliver engaging, play‑based learning activities aligned with EYFS.
• Support children's communication, language, literacy, numeracy and personal, social, and emotional development.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Observe, assess and record children's progress and assist with planning next steps.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and Early Years team to support routines and activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
• Build relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed.
