Job summary

Milk Education, in partnership with a respected primary school in St Helens, is recruiting an EYFS Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting immediately. You will support the class teacher, work with small groups and SEND pupils, helping with activities and creating an inclusive learning environment while promoting both academic progress and emotional well-being.

Patience, nurturing approach and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role within a caring, structured school

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and Complex Needs.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to supporting academic and emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
• Support small groups of pupils and provide one‑to‑one assistance when needed
• Help maintain focus and engagement for pupils throughout the school day
• Prepare learning materials and assist in delivering educational activities
• Encourage a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere
• Collaborate effectively with teachers and other support staff
