Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Atherton (M46). The role runs full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30am-15:30pm, starting September 2026, predominantly supporting SEND pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

You will work alongside the class teacher to deliver tailored support, fostering an inclusive classroom and helping pupils make progress toward learning goals. Training and ongoing development are provided through Milk Academy and CPD courses.

Qualifications

  • EYFS and SEND experience is desirable.
  • Recent and relevant experience working with children within the past two years.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

EYFS Teaching Assistant- Atherton, M46

Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school located in Atherton (M46), which is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term temporary role supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage, with a particular focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role is full-time and working Monday to Friday and the working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment. You will provide tailored support to SEND pupils, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, ensuring they remain engaged and make progress in line with their learning goals.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Support the class teacher and work collaboratively with support staff

Requirements or Skills:
  • EYFS and SEND experience (desirable)
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach

  • Recent and relevant experience working with children within the past two years
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
