Job summary

Key Stage Teacher Supply is looking for a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support an infant class at a Scorton-based primary school near Preston. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:15pm, providing general classroom support under the direction of the class teacher.

The successful candidate will be an experienced TA or an ECT seeking to gain more experience within a school setting. A collaborative team environment and safeguarding focus are emphasised throughout the role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable).
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum and adapting as required for pupils' learning needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, proactive and supportive approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Encourage pupil engagement and participation; support behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams.
• Provide general classroom and learning support to pupils.
• Support pupils with their day-to-day learning and development.
