Job summary

Sense Education Limited is hiring an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support EYFS pupils with SEN in East Leeds. The role involves 1:1/small group support, sensory play, and communication-focused activities.

Ideal candidates have experience in schools or SEN settings, a psychology/education-related degree, and strong communication and patience. DBS checks are part of safeguarding, and weekly pay is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in schools, health and social settings, youth work, or with SEN.
• Graduate in psychology, education, or child development; TA or childcare qualifications desirable.
• Strong communication, patience, empathy and team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN.
• Encourage early milestones in speech, movement, social interactions and play using sensory, visuals and music.
• Assist with daily routines including toileting, meals and outdoor play.
• Collaborate with class teacher to support daily learning activities.
• Utilise PECS, Makaton, visual schedules and communication boards.
