Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to work across primary schools in Barnsley. Based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, you will support early years learners in a positive, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with phonics, literacy, numeracy and social development, supporting individuals and small groups, and collaborating with teachers to meet diverse learning needs. Previous EYFS experience preferred.

Are you passionate about supporting children in their early years education? Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Barnsley.

We have a range of opportunities available, making this an excellent role for experienced Teaching Assistants, Early Years practitioners, or those looking to develop their career within education.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers and children within the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting children with their learning and development through play-based activities.
• Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups.
• Assisting with phonics, early literacy, numeracy and communication activities.
• Supporting children's social, emotional and personal development.

• Working closely with teachers and other school staff to support children's individual needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and developing children's confidence and independence.

Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, Level 2/3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not always essential, depending on your experience.
