Job summary

Heybridge Primary School in Maldon is seeking an experienced EYFS Teacher and Leader. You will lead early years provision, write engaging lessons, and foster language and social development through play, indoors and outdoors.

The role requires QTS and EYFS expertise, with a 32.5-hour week, and offers a UPS1–UPS3 pay scale (£47,472–£51,048 per year). Immediate start; application close 02/11/2026 midday.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status and has experience of working in an EYFS setting.
• Has a sound understanding of the EYFS framework, the EYFS curriculum and play-based learning.
• Plans and delivers an inspiring, broad and balanced curriculum, motivating children's learning through experience and interests, indoors and outdoors.
• Develops children's personal, social, language, mathematical and creative skills through stories, songs, games and imaginative play.
• Builds warm, effective relationships with children, and provides pastoral care in a safe, secure environment.
• Adapts teaching to meet pupils' needs and works collaboratively with the EYFS Lead and wider EYFS team.
• Brings high expectations, a positive outlook, flexibility, and a joy for teaching young children.

Responsibilities

• Write the very first chapter of a child's school story through stories, songs, and imaginative play.
• Plan and deliver an inspiring, broad curriculum indoors and outdoors.
• Develop children's language, social, and mathematical skills through engaging activities.
• Build warm relationships and provide pastoral care in a safe environment.
• Collaborate with the EYFS Lead and wider EYFS team to meet pupils' needs.
