A leading education agency seeks a compassionate EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal child in Great Barr. This full-time role requires working closely with teaching staff to implement learning plans and provide personalized support. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications and experience in EYFS settings, specifically with children who have special educational needs.

Day Rate- £89.00-£104.00
Days- Monday - Friday
Hours- 8:30-15.30
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal child within a nursery class in a school in Great Barr. This rewarding role involves helping the child access the curriculum, develop communication and social skills.
You will work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to implement a tailored learning plan, using visual aids, sensory activities, and structured routines to support the child's development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal child in an EYFS classroom
Assist with personal care, including toileting and hygiene
Use alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visuals)
Facilitate sensory breaks and support emotional regulation
Monitor and record progress in line with EHCP targets
Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the child and their family
Collaborate with teaching staff, external specialists, and therapists
The Ideal EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant Will Have:
Experience working in an EYFS setting
Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally non-verbal or with autism
A calm, nurturing, and patient approach
Confidence in providing personal care
Good communication and teamwork skills
A willingness to learn and adapt to the child's evolving needs
Relevant qualifications or training (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training, safeguarding)
