Job summary

Randstad Education in Forest Row is seeking an experienced Nursery Room Leader to head a busy EYFS room on a full-time permanent basis. You will lead a small team, plan age-appropriate activities, monitor progress, and build strong relationships with families to support children's development.

The ideal candidate holds CACHE or NVQ (or equivalent), has UK nursery experience, and understands safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Qualifications: CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent.
• Experience: Proven experience working in a UK nursery setting, ideally in a senior or supervisory role.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding standards.
• Vetting: Enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire room staff to deliver EYFS care.
• Room Management: Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, manage daily routines, oversee learning environments.
• Child Development: Act as a Key Person, monitoring progress, conducting assessments, and maintaining learning journals.
• Parent Communication: Maintain open, professional relationships with parents and carers regarding child updates.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory guidelines.
