Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming nursery in Lancaster to recruit a Level 2 EYFS Practitioner for a long-term placement from September 2026 to April 2027. You will provide one-to-one support to a non-verbal child with ASD in a busy nursery setting, fostering communication and social interaction.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 Early Years qualification, have experience with ASD/additional needs, and demonstrate patience, resilience, and a passion for SEND.

Qualifications

• Holds a minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification.
• Experience supporting children with ASD and/or additional needs.
• Understanding strategies to support children who may display behaviours that challenge.
• Patient, calm, and able to build positive relationships.
• Passion for supporting children with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a child with ASD on a one-to-one basis.
• Encouraging communication, engagement, and social interaction.
• Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
• Working closely with nursery staff, SEN professionals, and parents/carers.
• Promoting a nurturing and inclusive environment.
