About the Role:

As an EYFS Learning Support Assistant, your primary focus will be on creating a supportive, stimulating, and inclusive environment for young learners. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning experiences, while providing one-on-one support to a child in EYFS who uses a wheelchair and requires personal care and medical assistance.

Responsibilities of an EYFS Learning Support Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 support to a child in EYFS who uses a wheelchair, including personal care and basic medical assistance.
• Assist with daily classroom activities, encouraging active participation and engagement.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the diverse needs of children.
• Support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of EYFS children.
• Promote independence, confidence, and social skills in all learners.
• Monitor and document progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents.
• Ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment for all children.
• Participate in school training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in working with young children, preferably in an EYFS or similar early years setting.
• Previous experience providing personal care and/or medical support is desirable.
• Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and a commitment to fostering early childhood development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
• An up-to-date CV with two relevant references (covering the last two years and the past ten years with no unexplained gaps).
• Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
