Job Title: EYFS Specialist Teacher
We are currently recruiting for EYFS specialist Teachers in Leicester at GSL.
As an EYFS Teacher, you will be a key member of the team. Our primary aim is to provide a safe, caring, happy, and stimulating environment where children are offered activities to enhance their development.
Purpose of the Job
- Support children and parents in settling children into the preschool environment according to each family’s needs.
- Lead the Preschool team and enable each staff member to contribute fully.
- Help young children make good progress in their learning by building on their existing skills.
- Assist children in developing emotional security, self-belief, and social skills.
- Promote a love of learning and excitement about coming to preschool each day.
- Maintain high standards of conduct and professional behavior.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding children's welfare within the preschool.
- Build good relationships with parents and carers to work in partnership for the best outcomes for children and families.
Responsibilities
Planning Learning
- Plan rich and stimulating activities that promote good understanding, with clear objectives tailored to the children’s needs and interests.
- Create an engaging learning environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Use assessment information to inform teaching and plan future activities.
- Organize activities for nursery children, including nursery club.
- Develop opportunities for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.
Teaching and Classroom Management
- Ensure effective teaching of the entire class, groups, and individuals to meet learning objectives efficiently.
- Employ diverse teaching methods to engage children.
- Set high expectations for behavior through engaging teaching and positive relationships, aligned with nursery values.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure learning environment that fosters confidence.
- Be familiar with the Code of Practice for special educational needs and collaborate with the SENCo to support pupils’ needs.
- Promote high standards of literacy, including spoken English.
- Evaluate and improve your teaching practices continuously.
Teamwork, Collaboration, and Professional Development
- Participate in relevant meetings and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues, sharing effective practices and contributing to team planning.
- Value team members’ contributions and involve them in planning and decision-making.
- Engage in curriculum development and review activities.
- Build strong relationships with parents/carers and support their involvement in their child's learning at home.
